Stable Cottage adjoins Byre Cottage and has south and west facing windows. It is many years since it housed the horses which were replaced by tractors long ago. It is a good cottage for families as it has a bath as well as a shower and the large hall has lots of room for wellies, outdoor gear and pushchairs. There is a baby bath, stair gate and high chair for toddlers. It also has an automatic washing machine. You can hang washing and outdoor gear in the open barn opposite the cottage.
The kitchen, living room, hall and bathroom are on the ground floor with two bedrooms upstairs. The cottage is in a lovely location at the head of Loch Sween with excellent walks directly from your door.
The galley style kitchen, off the living room is equipped to a high standard with an electric cooker with ceramic hob and double oven, microwave, dishwasher, food processor, and full range of crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and glassware.
The living room has two sofas, one of which converts to a bed settee for occasional use. There is a television with Sky tv and a dvd and video player. There is a mini hi-fi and lots of books, magazines and tourist information to keep you entertained and informed. There is a telephone in the cottage and you can access broadband if you have a wireless enabled laptop.
The bathroom is on the ground floor and has a bath with electric shower over, wc, wash hand basin, shaver socket and light. The log fired boiler provides lashings of hot water for long relaxing soaks in the bath.
The main bedroom has a standard size double bed, coombed ceilings and original beams The second bedroom has twin beds and a cot. Although the cottage is semi detached the thick stone walls give it great sound insulation so you won’t disturb your neighbours and they won’t disturb you.
Heating and Hot Water for the ground floor is provided by a central hi tech log fired boiler which also heats Stable Cottage, the farmhouse and the workshop. The bedrooms upstairs have electric panel heaters. The cottage is double glazed and well insulated so it is very warm and comfortable during the colder months of the year.
For allergy sufferers, Stable Cottage is pet and smoke free and all duvets and pillows have synthetic fillings.
