Byre Cottage (Sleeps 4 + Cot)

Byre Cottage is one half of the farm steading which until 1993 housed our cattle. The exterior is little changed but the interior has been transformed into a roomy, comfortable holiday home on two floors. The kitchen, living room, hall and bathroom are on the ground floor with two bedrooms upstairs. The cottage is in a lovely location at the head of Loch Sween with excellent walks directly from your door.

Kitchen
The galley style kitchen, off the living room is equipped to a high standard with electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, food processor, and full range of crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and glassware.

Living Room The living room has leather sofas, one of which converts to a bed settee for occasional use. There is a 37" LCD television with Sky tv, dvd and video player. There is a mini hi-fi and lots of books, magazines and tourist information to keep you entertained and informed. The dining table can seat up to six if you have visitors. There is a telephone in the cottage which you may find useful in the absence of a mobile signal in and around the cottage. You can access broadband if you have a wireless enabled laptop.

Bathroom
The bathroom is on the ground floor and has a shower, wc, wash hand basin, shaver light and socket and automatic washing machine.

Bedrooms
The main bedroom has a king size double bed, coombed ceilings and original beams The second bedroom has twin beds and a cot. Although the cottage is semi detached, it is very private and the thick stone walls give it great sound insulation. You may not know you have neighbours unless you meet them outside.

Children
We welcome families with children and for babies there is a baby bath, stair gate and high chair.

Heating and Hot Water for the ground floor is provided by hi tech log fired boiler which also heats Stable Cottage, the farmhouse and the workshop. The bedrooms upstairs have electric panel heaters. The cottage is double glazed and well insulated so it is very warm and comfortable during the colder months of the year.
